"Dating Member Photos - How To Make Yours Work For You"

Most people don't like their photo taken, or like seeing photos of themselves. When we review our own photos its HUMAN NATURE to find our faults in the photo, but we don't like to be reminded of our faults. However, if you truly want to be successful on an online dating site, you absolutely MUST POST SOME PHOTOS of yourself. Note the use of the plural - photo(s), that means you must post more than one photo, if you really want to have the MOST SUCCESSFUL online dating profile. If you look at the stats, profiles with photos get way more date responses and interest than profiles without photos.

Having great lighting is the most important part of your photo. Please be sure you are in GOOD LIGHTING when you take your photo and that your face can easily be seen. In addition, you will need to make sure you don't look like something demonic because of "red-eye" in the photo. It's very important that you are the ONLY THING in the photos you upload. I know you may love your family, pet, or remote control. However you are selling YOURSELF in the photos not those other things. You MUST NOT put a picture of you among a group of your friends! You will be forcing someone, who has NO IDEA who you are, to guess which person is you and it will only make their experience with your profile frustrating.

ALSO IMPORTANT REGARDING YOU PHOTOS

Please do not upload a photo of you with your ex cut out of the photo. You can always tell when this happens because there's a CHEEK, HAND, OR AN EAR somewhere in the photo. Kind of gross if you think about it. Stay away from it. Plus, nobody is interested in seeing that you didn't try to post a nice photo.

This might sound like common sense, but please MAKE SURE YOU SMILE and look friendly. Nobody is going to want to see you look miserable, sad, or scary in a profile photo. Remember, you are there to find dates.

Absolutely NO props in your photos. Guys you need to put down the football, baseball mit, fake gold chains, and weights. Girls, please stay away from your pets. Your POOR CAT OR DOG doesn't need to be sitting on your lap or snuggled like a little baby in your dating member profile.

Make sure you upload recent photos ONLY. Nobody wants to know what you used to look like, period. Don't be tempted to FALSE ADVERTISE just because you might have gained a couple of pounds. It will come back to bite you in the you know what. People you go to meet will think YOU ARE A LIAR, without even speaking to them.

Guys, please make sure to keep the shirt ON. Just because you can go topless, doesn't mean you should. Your online dating site profile photo should make you LOOK LIKE MORE, than just a crazed fan at your favorite teams stadium. Now listen, I'm not saying you shouldn't wear a that shows off your best features or muscles, but just be sure to wear a shirt. However, for crying out loud, NO TANK TOPS OR MUSCLE SHIRTS. Also, while we are at it. No novelty shirts. You will want to wear a collared, unwrinkled, button-down or polo shirt. If you must wear a tee-shirt underneath, then a plain tee-shirt is best. It will make you LOOK FRESH AND CRISP like girls want to see. Make sure the shirt(s) are plain and any color you choose to wear compliments you well. Remember you're trying to make the best possible first impression.

Women, if you DO NOT want the WRONG KIND OF ATTENTION keep your clothes on. Seriously, even if you look hot the bikini, please do not put that photo in your profile. You're going to get massive attention, but it will be for all the wrong reasons. The key is to look sexy but TASTEFUL WITH A TOUCH OF CLASS. Ladies you need to wear clothes that accent your best physical attributes, without blatantly flaunting them. Think about this - it's best if you MAKE THE MEN use their imagination, instead of showing what you have to them right away. It will make them seriously interested in you.

Consider using a professional photographer for your dating member profile pictures. If you're really serious about finding a LONG-TERM RELATIONSHIP through an online dating site, then you should consider getting some professional photos taken of yourself. The LIGHTING, THE POSES, AND THE CLOTHING worn will all taken care of for you and the professional will have your best interest in mind. In addition, the pricing for these types of photos aren't very expensive, especially when you take in to consideration what you'll be getting in return!
